Future plans for Reina Beatrix airport

Commuter aircraft terminal
Long term plans are to build a commuter aircraft terminal to the east of the current terminal building.

Old airport restoration
Future plans are also to restore the old airport building situated at the south side.
This building has been declared a national monument which protects it from being demolished. There are no specific plans
for the building but officials would not rule out the possibility that it could become a bar/restaurant for plane spotting.

West Aruba

Royal Aruban Airlines
RAA has been reported to have changed owners and seem to now be in hands of a Brazilian group.
They have changed the name as well (Aruba Airways) and plan to start with an EMB120 and later add a B757.

New FOL facilities
FOL is building new facilities at the south side and it should be operational by the end of 2005.
These new facilities will function as a support for the FOL already established in Curacao.
